AR15 9MM MAG WELL ADAPTOR FOR COLT / UZI STYLE

I bought this adapter to replace a lesser expensive block adapter and i should have bought this KAK brand from the get go, at first i had a bit of trouble getting it to fit , so i called KAK and they gave a few ideas to try and i ended up using my dremel to make a small adjustment and i got it to drop in with out a hitch, my nephew helped me get it to seat right in the magwell and he fastened the set screws and i test fired it today 5 11 19 and it ran very well with the exception of 2 malfunctions but i was trying different ammo, the 2 rounds i had a problem with i stopped using and i did not have a problem the rest of the day, so in closing if you are looking for a great 9mm dropin adapter block KAK is defintely the way to go for the money and reliabilty plus the last round hold open latch worked perfectly.

Not the most expensive...But fits like a glove. Fits the lower perfectly. I have a dedicated 9mm lower and other regular lowers. This is way cheaper and I don't have to buy another lower for a pistol caliber AR. Mags lock up tight and drop free. I will buy more.

Works like a charm, good price, good quality. I did have bend the ejector down a bit, but I'd expect to have to do a little tuning on any of the adapters.

I originally purchased a competitor's two piece magazine insert. I could not even reliably cycle the bolt by hand without double and triple feeds. I wanted an insert that was easily removable to convert back to a rifle caliber AR. Even Colt uses an insert on their dedicated AR 9mm platform that is affixed by two roll pins. I liked the fact that the KAK insert uses a bolt hold open that works with a standard AR15 bolt catch. It does hold the bolt open on factory Colt magazines that I had for my Colt 9mm carbine. Loosen two set screws and remove the top screw and it will slide out. I had purchased a Spikes Tactical 9mmX buffer. On my first trip to the range, I did still have some issues. Believing it was due to the length of the buffer, I replaced it with a standard length 9mm buffer. I also polished off the feed ramps a little bit with a Dremel tool. Today's trip to the range I ran hollow points and ball ammo with not one malfunction and 100% lock open with the Colt Mags. I couldn't be more pleased. The first day of shooting when I had lock back and a few feeding issues, I sent an email question to company. It was a Friday evening. I wasn't expecting an answer until the next work week. I received an email back from the owner within a half an hour. Very impressed with the customer service.

Why would anyone attempt to re drill to match holes or drill and install a 2 piece mag well adapter when this product is available??? It’s absolutely perfect for fit, finish and quality. Although I haven’t put it to use yet as in slowly gathering up bits and pieces, I have no doubt this will function flawlessly. Well done kakindistry for offering this ingenious product.

Even without instructions this was a no brainer installation, the magazines slip in and lock without difficulty and feeding has been positive with the limited shooting I have done so far. The unit is used in a pistol build which has turned into a fun project. I use Colt mags to match my Colt AR 9mm.

Thank you to other reviewers and KAK. I also made the mistake of buying a cheaply made plastic insert. I had constant feeding issues. I didn't know why until I got this one. The other ramp was not angled enough to feed the round into the chamber. I got this one a few days before a steel challenge shoot, as an AR-9 pistol with Anderson lower, CMMG upper. I am using ASC and unknown brand Uzi style mags. I ran well over 150 rounds in one day and ZERO malfunctions. If you have any doubts, buy this one. It works.

I say perfect but I don't have anything to compare it to. I was excited about installing and trying this thing out. I have heard some horror stories about adapters and was told to only by a different brand at almost twice KAK's cost. Based on reviews here and other sites I decided I'd throw down the $100 and give it a try. It came with installation hardware, tools and instructions. Installed the adapter in a PSA SBR AR-15 lower. The installation was very easy and only look a couple of minutes. I tested out the mag release function with a couple of 32 round ACS metal Colt/Uzi magazines. They dropped free as expected. I added a 8" 9mm upper that I purchased from PSA and went to the range. The mag well adapter worked perfectly. I did have a couple of very small issues but none were related to the magwell adapter. I put about 400 rounds through the gun and the adapter held strong. I will be shooting this in a USPSA PCC match soon. I highly recommend this adapter to anyone looking to convert a AR-15 lower to a 9mm. Buy this one and use your extra money for another magazine or a heavy buffer.
