This BCG enables you to run a standard 3 oz standard carbine buffer instead of H buffer weights with an FRT.

There is a floating weight in the carrier tail which has a dead blow effect eliminating bolt bounce, and providing enough weight for the FRT to function as intended.

We have tested this successfully with the Hoffman Tactical Super Safety, AS Designs ARC fire FRS, Atrius Development FRS, and Rare Breed FRT. Similarly designed product should work as well.

Patent US 12,474,132 B2

The K-SPEC BCG combines multiple key features focused on increasing the reliability of your AR15 style firearm no matter if you are running suppressed or unsuppressed, and regardless of conditions.  The K-SPEC is a truly plug and play BCG that will accommodate whatever configuration your mission requires.

For those running suppressed, the K-SPEC requires no additional tuning or tweaking of the gas or recoil systems to run reliably.  Like all KAK BCGs, the K-SPEC is machined to the M16 full auto profile.

Reduced Peak DB Report

When used in conjunction with a silencer, the gas redirect produces a quieter report

See testing results here- Down Vent vs Side Vent DB reduction testing

Downward Gas Vents

In an effort to reduce the amount of debris and gas vented towards the shooters face, the two standard gas relief ports have been relocated from the ejection port side of the K-SPEC carrier and placed underneath, in the magazine feed lip channels.  Two additional emergency relief ports have also been added to the bottom of the carrier to mitigate structural damage in the event of a case head separation.  Testing has shown that venting the gasses through the magazine well has no negative impact on the feeding or function of the magazine nor ammunition, and any added heat is negligible.

Phosphate coating and chrome lining—provides a BCG with excellent protection against wear and corrosion, making it a popular choice for those seeking reliability and longevity in their firearms. The phosphate coating provides an initial layer of protection, while the chrome lining offers additional durability and resistance to the stresses of repeated firing.

    Great solution for FRT issues

Posted by John S on July 21, 2026

I could not get my FRT to run even with changes in buffers. I bought this bolt carrier group and it worked perfectly the first time. Will definitely recommend. I bought a second just in case.

This thing is absolutely awesome I had a lower receiver for a couple years that I could not get to fire properly but I simply dropped the dead blow bolt carrier group in and pulled the trigger and it worked flawlessly and I had a blast with it ever since . You guys are great thank you

    Just buy it

Posted by Tom on July 20, 2026

It’s ran flawlessly out of the box on a variety of different setups. Builds that took SO MUCH experimenting, just ran no problem with this BCG. I’m definitely buying a few more.

    DBG BCG-556/X300 BLACKOUT K-SPECT-S

Posted by JORDAN Henderson on July 20, 2026

The DBG BCG K-SPECT ran flawless in my mil-spec 556 upper ,along with the Atrius super selector. It worked with the mil-spec buffer as well. Ejection pattern was 3:30 o'clock, but very fast. No light primer strikes occurred or any other malfunction. Great BCG!!

DBC BCG- 5.56/ 300 Blackout , K-SPEC-S Down Vent, Single Ejector, Chrome Lined Phosphate

I purchased this BCG after researching for solutions to my FRT failing to function. This BCG came highly rated in the reviews I read. Two reviewers had stated if there were any complications the customer service at KAK quickly addressed their concerns. I did not find any fault with the BCG I received and after installing it in my BCA .223 AR15 along with a Partisan Disruptor, it functioned in Safe, Semi, and Forced Reset modes. I highly recommend this BCG if you have already experimented with changing the buffer and spring without success.

    Works As Advertised

Posted by USMCsilver on July 1, 2026

This did the trick, as it was intended to. Paired with a Tubbs flatwire & and cheap buffer, it's running fine, suppressed, out of a 11.5" AR.
