7.62X39 REPLACEMENT EXTRACTOR

I have an AR style rifle chambered 7.26x39 (KAK BCG/Barrel/Gas). Initially unaware of issues with Russian steel-cased ammo, after about 800 rounds I started getting FTE's until one was so stuck in the chamber (with the extractor engaged on the casing), it took 10 minutes of pounding the charging handle with a rubber mallet to dislodge the case from the chamber. After 3 of these, I went to school on the issue. Did some homework on this issue and learned a lot about steel casings and the chamber cleaning intervals when using steel. Keeping the chamber clean seemed to solve my FTE issue, but after another 500 rounds or so, the catch on the original ejector broke off (probably from all that extreme pounding). Purchased this replacement. it was simple to install (3 minutes) and has worked flawlessly since (probably around 1000 rounds, half steel, half brass). I've since purchased the BMC enhanced ejector spring, but have not installed it yet as I've had zero ejection issues. I love this rifle, made mostly with KAK upper parts.

I have a ar pistol in 7.62x39. I run an 8 inch kak barrel and a kak bolt carrier group. I have run 200 rounds of tula steel case with no problems. I then ran 500 rounds of silver bear soft point which is nickle plated steel case. The idea behind that is to reduce stiction in the chamber much like brass vs. Steel cased ammo. at around 500 rounds my original extractor broke (sheared off). I ordered two more extractors from kak and have broken another in around 400 rounds. I keep my bolt and chamber oiled to help avoid this but it has not helped. I use an slr rifleworks adjustable gas block and set it to use the minimum amount of gas to cycle the bolt. I like my kak barrel, it has been wonderful. I dont know what material the extractors are made of and maybe a more durable material could be used?? I don't see the value when i have an almost guaranteed extra cost and down. I do understand that this is a 5.56 bolt and has been bored out to fit the 7.62 cartridge. There is less material which leads to more stress 9n those parts. I do want to make this gun 100% reliable and have talked to POF USA about getting ther E2 extraction tech cut into my kak barrel. At $160 for this service its a toss up to what will help the most and be most reliable. Nothing against kak. They have had great customer service and i love my barrel. Just my 2 cents or $36 actually.

Item received promptly, installed easily, and functions flawlessly (so far). This is my first KAK brand extractor for the 7.62x39. Two previous extractors each lasted through about 1,500 rounds of the Russian-made, steel cased, ammo. I purchased two KAK extractors ...just in case the life is similar to the other brands.

looks great, now I just have to test fire the gun!
