    Tentativly its still a BUY

I installed this on a PSA AR-10 and ran into a few issues: Palmetto AR-10's seem to only play nice between themselves in spite of being mostly a DPMS copy. Handguards would not work with the nicely pre-drilled dimples for the gas block, so it'll be changed to a free-floating handguard. .358 is an interesting cartridge same as its brother the .35 Whelen, The 19" barrel hasn't been accuracy tested as of this review, which is where it really matters, fit & bead-blasted (stainless) finish are excellent., price shipped was $250

    Great value

Very happy with barrel, I'm glad you have done your homework on gas vent was perfect. Rifle will shoot both 180 to 250 grain over Varget with a standard gas block. I have had another barrel makers 358 win and had to run a adjustable gas block . I'm sure if running a suppressor may need to adjust block but using a brake it's good to go . Group was less than a inch at a hundred yards. And excited to try this coming deer season.

    Great Mid Range Barrel

The KAK barrel is quality and in my opinion, the best deal out there. KAK customer service is great and there are several shipping options to choose from.

Haven’t installed yet but it looks to be great quality machining and the price was right. Will update after gun is built.

    Nice Barrel

Posted by Kurt on November 21, 2019

Had to do some work on the barrel extension with needle files to clean up the edges and a little polishing. Feeds Speer 180g FP, 220g FP, 250g SP and Hornady 250g RN without issues. One big ragged hole. P- Mags were a little tight when loaded but no problems. Glad I got this barrel. Shipped fast.

    Beautiful Barrel

I was on the waiting list for this one. If I didn't get the notification it was in I was going to get a GMB blank and cut my own. Since I 've already got 2 blank in the queue having this one become available saved me some lathe time. The barrel is exactly as described. Looks good, lands nice and deep. Recommendation : buy!

    Nice barrel and easily installed

I have yet to fire the gun, but last night I mounted the barrel and built the upper with no issues. Barrel plugged in snug but easily. I really like the matte finish for future hunting use. Gas port has two dimples on bottom to give a "home" to gas port screws. Packaged well.

    Best AR Cinderella Caliber!!

Posted by Marc on January 21, 2016

When I stumbled upon this on KAK's website I was immediately attracted to it because I was not familiar with the cartridge and did not even know it was available for an xx 308 build--so of course I bought one! As far as I know--KAK is the only retailer to make these as a regular production barrel--and at a budget price at that. Upon playing around with some ballistics calculators--I quickly realized what a stupendous caliber the 358 really is and the only huge question being how the 358 win has languished for so many decades. Everything I read warned of 300 wm level recoil and "limited to close (200 yd) range woods gun use only"--both of which I think are COMPLETELY UNTRUE! With a decent brake mine recoils with very little noticeable difference with a regular 308--and while not the fastest or flattest-shooting bullet around for an AR--it still delivers PHENOMENAL energy to longer ranges. With the right bullet and the right shot I bet the 358 can drop any game on the planet at closer ranges--but that's just a guess : )
