KAK 308 WIN 18" Rifle Gas AR10 Barrel- Stainless

I was very surprised with the accuracy and how this barrel doesn't care what ammo you feed it. Developed ammo can hold 0.6 MOA and I get about 0.75 to 1.0 MOA with random ammo. Accuracy is way better than expected for price of this barrel. Shot 3 different types of ammo at 300 yards with only about 1 inch change in point of impact. I am about 1K rounds into the barrel and setup on an Aero Precision build. I have 5 KAK barrels and happy with all of them.

Machining is flawless, barrel extension matched perfectly on my upper and nut, gas block fit tightly and has set screw dimple in correct location, also bought a KAK BCG and that matched perfect with barrel chamber, overall very satisfied with barrel. I’m still not sure about the finish, would probably prefer polished stainless, or even raw, the “grey” coating seems likely to mar, although it’s mostly hidden inside hand guard, I did manage to cause some minor scratches while installing gas block, and (since I live in “the people’s republic of NJ) while “pinning” the muzzle brake. I have not had a chance to shoot it much, but seems to be sub-moa capable.

I purchased this for an AR 308 build, delivery was fast and the barell looks great, dimpled for gas block and fit and finish look like high quality. Looking forward to completing the build and seeing how this barrel shoots.

I had a good experience with purchase of this barrel KAK industries. The shipping was fast and my order arrived undamaged and all my items were as described and of good quality. The appearance of the barrel was very nice and all the machine work such as the bore/rifling, barrel crown and threads looked good. The fit of the barrel to a DPMS brand LR 308 upper was very good with a just a slight interference fit just how you want it. The chamber head space checked out OK with a stripped KAK bolt closing nicely on a Forrester GO gauge and not closing on a Forrester NOGO gauge. The gas port on my barrel was in the correct location for a standard DPMS brand AR15 rifle length gas tube using a KAK low profile gas block. I have completed a function test of the completed rifle. There were no failures of any kind in 60 rounds of 150 gr Winchester brand hunting ammo using ASC and Magpul brand magazines. It is too soon to say much about accuracy but the last 10 rounds held the 10 ring @ 100 yards with a group size of 1 3/4 in (for that ammo that is fantastic, the same stuff is about 3 MOA in my Remington Model 7 hunting rifle.) I am looking forward to seeing how it does with match ammo and a good optic.

A well made product. Gas block shoulder is machined 12.44 from the barrel indexing pin. Most other manufacturers use 12.64. Plastic handguards won't fit. Any 0.75" diameter AR15 gas block will align properly. Gas port is the same distance from the shoulder as others manufacturers.

In my prior review I was totally disappointed with the performance of the barrel. After posting my review Kurt from KAK contacted me with concerns over the barrel. and he mailed me out another barrel because clearly as he stated something was wrong. I received the new barrel had it installed and it performed flawlessly with the same ammo I tested the first one with at 100 yards I was getting five shot groups all the rounds touching. I thank Kurt for his exceptional customer service making in a time where customer service no longer matter to companies this man went above and beyond in order for me to have the experience that I should have with their product. What a beautiful barrel. Fast well protected shipping. Finish is different and really nice. The price is a great offering. I plan on the 358 Winchester next and am very pleased with the KAK barrel and likewise with their other products I have purchased. This barrel fit the DPMS upper nice and tight.

This was the best buy for a 308 barrel. I purchased it along with the BCG. I'm looking forward to completing my build with these two items.

When I saw the price I was a little skeptical because kak was so much cheaper than every other website that I had looked at. Went for it and so far I'm very pleased with the barrel. It arrived quickly, well packaged and the price again so low. The tolerance fitment was great the barrel had to be tapped ever so slightly to go into the upper receiver which is better then some other companies barrels the wabble even after being seated. When I get the opportunity to break it in I will update the review.
