NP3 coating is a specialized type of coating often used in firearms and other high-wear applications to enhance durability and reduce friction. It's known for its ability to offer excellent resistance to wear, corrosion, and fouling. The NP3 coating is a proprietary finish.
The coating is applied through an electroless nickel plating process combined with a fluoropolymer, which gives it its unique properties. The fluoropolymer component helps to reduce friction, which can improve the performance and longevity of the coated parts. This makes NP3 particularly popular for use in firearms, where its low friction and resistance to corrosion and fouling are highly valued.
If you have any specific questions about NP3 coating or need details on how it's applied or its benefits in a particular context, feel free to ask!

Very nice bolt. No blemishes or tooling/machine marks. As I do with all new bolts, I put in a BCM 5 coil HD extractor spring. I've paired this NP3 bolt with a FCD NP3 cam pin and a full chrome M.B. carrier. Today this bolt hit its 1000 round mark. I got home an hour ago and cleaned this BCG for the 1st time. Took less than 5 mins to clean the entires BCG. No carbon cleaners or chemicals were necessary, just a bit of Slip2000 lube, an old rag and 3 q-tips. No issues or failures to speak of with the bolt. Ran perfectly for all 1000 rounds. NP3 + Chrome = amazing combination for a BCG.
